G&H Engineering Ltd was first established in 1977, later combining with the diving services side of the business to form G&H Engineering & Diving Services Ltd. The Company’s Head Office is in Feltham, near Heathrow Airport.
Additional offices and workshops were opened in 2009 at Gatwick Airport to give added value to their clients and to meet all site requirements quickly and efficiently at both airports.
 
G&H Engineering & Diving Services Ltd adheres to all codes of practice within the Construction Industry and has a wealth of experience in design, fabrication and installation of primary and secondary steelwork schemes for small to very large construction projects, as well as undertaking complete works packages from conception to completion.
 
G&H are Specialists in Airport Construction Projects with CE Approved Procedures and Qualifications and have also received full approvals to undertake railway projects. G&H specialise in primary and secondary steelwork packages up to 900 tonnes, G&H is a single source company for a wide range of standard and bespoke steel products. G&H also specialise in Turn Key construction projects involving all trades and can offer a single point of contact for multi-discipline projects.
 
G&H place ‘safety’ and ‘buildability’ at the very top of their design priorities, to ensure their products are ‘fit for purpose’. Where required, we provide customers with advice and design support to ensure lowest cost commercial solutions, working to all applicable standards. G&H have full ‘in-house’ design and modelling capabilities enabling us to undertake the most complex and demanding of projects.


G&H is assured to ISO 9001, ISO 1090 to Execution  Class 4, which is the highest level achievable and applies to ‘special structures’ or ‘structures with extreme consequences of structural failure.  Our welding quality management system is assured to ISO 3834 – 2 by SCCS notified body 2273”. 
Additionally, G&H have demonstrated our commitment to health, safety and the environment by meeting the requirements of numerous certification bodies, such as: CHAS, Constructionline (Gold), Builders Profile, SafeContractor,  Supply Chain Sustainability School and other specific industry organisations.

Our aims are:

  • To ensure our business operation is undertaken in accordance with best practice procedures which reflect compliance with current and up to date statutory health, safety and environmental legislation.

  • To provide our workforce with “best practice” training, information, procedures, skills, equipment and leadership to assist them in ensuring that our business operates at all times and reflects “best practice.”

  • To continue to promote the “Respect for People” principles as highlighted within the Construction Taskforce industry improvement report “Rethinking Construction”.

  • To influence mutual performance improvement objectives and practices within the integrated supply chain which G&H recognise as being important to the success of their client's projects and within the industry in general.

  • To work successfully with our supply chain partners in realising significant and tangible H&S performance improvements standards in all our project appointments and undertakings.

  • To ensure our business operations do not cause risk to the local or wider environment through poor environmental management control or work practices.

  • To continue to improve our H&S policy at regular intervals, also review and educate the workforce where events such as the introduction of new or updated legislation dictates.

 
The six principle health and safety aims of the company are to:
 

  1. Build a “Sensible Health and Safety” ethos into the company’s health and safety culture

  2. Improve the way that health and safety performance is measured monitored and recorded.

  3. Ensure that all people involved in the delivery of the company’s services have the appropriate levels of competency to address their health and safety responsibilities.

  4. Ensure that where the company contracts out work to other organisations or works in partnership with other organisations the occupational health and safety risks are properly considered and satisfactorily addressed.

  5. Develop leadership skills for all Managers and Supervisors that improve the health and safety performance of the business.

  6. Ensure that the company is a “learning” organisation by improving the way health and safety incidents are recorded, investigated and how lessons learnt are communicated.

Our fabrication shop and site installation teams are all fully coded to BS EN 287– 1 &  BS4872 – 1
Our workshops are available 24 hours a day to enable deadlines to be met and to enable the client’s needs to be met day or night.
Quality systems assured under BS EN ISO 9001, through BSI, together with Welding Control to BSEN ISO 3834, through The Welding Institute (TWI), operate to ensure customer requirements are recognised and delivered

 

Project Management

G&H have dedicated project managers based at both Gatwick and Heathrow Airports to deal with everyday activities:

  • Preparation of detailed method statements and risk assessments (RAMS) and to hold Principal contractor weekly and monthly planning and meetings.

  • Manage & support own workforce ensuring all H&S conditions and rules are being applied at all times.

  • G&H Project managers and staff have been working in the airport environment for many years and are fully up to date with current procedures and protocols. This allows them to manage the entire project efficiently and effectively.

  • G&H also offer the facility to provide staff to projects on a labour rate basis only if required.

 

Design

G&H offer a full design and build service for all their products. The in-house design team has significant experience in all design aspects of the structural steelwork, secondary steelwork, minor metalworks & sundry steelwork. We provide detailed fabrication drawings using the latest software such as AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Revit.

We offer numerous structural drafting and steel detailing services, including:

  • 3D modeling

  • General arrangement drawings

  • Fabrication drawings

  • BOM (Bill Of Materials)

  • Data output (NC,DXF)

 

Installation

G&H Engineering offers a versatile site installations team with a vast experience with contract lifting and mechanical plant and equipment.
We have specialist experience in:

  • Complex crane lifts 

  • Installation and removal of lifts and lift shafts 

  • Escalator and passenger conveyors

  • Passenger boarding bridges

  • Structural steel frames

  • Plant decks

  • Staircases and much more
